As General Manager you will be required to possess an outgoing and motivational ‘Mine Host’ type character and be able to demonstrate both the charm and humour to match the fine local heritage and colour of this unique Hotel with Links Golf Course.

Following an extensive renovation and refurbishment programme this exceptional property will soon re-awaken as the regions premium destination property. As a key local destination within the Western Isles the property will offer fine dining experiences, which will take full advantage of local quality ingredients and fresh seafood, in addition to a well stocked bar reflecting the regions local whisky heritage.  46 bespoke bedrooms and sumptuous suites together with a choice of enchanting Event spaces ideal for corporate or private events complete the property.

The General Manager is responsible for delivering Hotel standards and budget, daily hotels operations, sales and marketing, financial management, maintenance of the property and recruitment and development of the team.

To be successful in the role of General Manager you will ideally:

  • Have previous experience of operating a successful quality establishment of a similar nature (Luxury Boutique Hotels or Destination Quality Restaurant with Rooms within Pride of Britain, Relais & Chateau, Small Luxury Hotels  or other similar standard  of luxury 5 star or 4 red star property)
  • Enjoy a high degree of autonomy
  • Demonstrate a passion for consistent delivery of exceptional Customer service
  • Be well planned and organised with a keen eye for detail
  • Have a flair for networking, business development and marketing
  • Possess exceptional people management and communication skills
  • Be self motivated with a positive and professional work ethic
  • Demonstrate a commitment to engaging with the local community in to build a long lasting and sustainable business with a high quality reputation
  • Be financially astute with strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Have a track record of success in Project Managing new property openings or major refurbishments
  • Be able to develop a strong recruitment and training strategy in order to address the staffing challenges and succession planning
  • Enjoy playing Golf and have a good understanding of the Golf Market in Scotland with the contacts to tap into international Golf business
  • Be a highly visible, hands on operator with an instinctive passion for hotel management
  • Have a broad knowledge of Food & Beverage trends and associated quality standards up to four Rosettes / one Michelin Star

  • Possess exemplary commercial skills in establishing challenging budgets and implementing appropriate strategies to ensure delivery

Salary and Benefits package includes 25% discretionary bonus subject to attainment of agreed KPI’s. Family Accommodation is available.
